The Future Looks Bright...
Rosenblum Park is currently classified as a "Playground" for funding purposes due to gray areas in the park's original establishment as a shared entity with CPS. RPAC has requested a full reclassification of Rosenblum Park to full PARK so that funding meets the programming needs of the robust, thriving community around the park. In addition to Capital Improvements that would align with the reclassification, such as construction of a standalone Field House and relocation of the existing tennis courts, RPAC has requested consideration for the following items to be added at Rosenblum Park using the City's Participatory Budget Program.
Water Fountain near basketball courts
Park Benches and picnic tables with pergolas
Trees
Bleachers for Football Field
Baseball Field Upgrades
Better lighting and ADA Compliance Upgrade at Field House entrance
Kickball and Flag Football supplies
Putting Green
Dog Run
Poop Bag Dispensers
Snow Removal
Announcement Boards (Preferable Digital)

Major Events
RPAC is in need of committee members to expand our manpower in support of major events at the park. Become an RPAC member and lead or participate on a committee. We currently have plans to include the following events.
Earth Day Park Cleanup, which includes tree planting and beautification efforts (Register to be a Site Captain)
Music in the Park (Juneteenth Music Festival)
Movies in the Park (Underwriting Deadline Mar 16)
National Night Out
Back To School Bookbag Drive
Weekly park cleanup efforts

RPAC Officer Elections
2026 RPAC Board elections will take place at our regular November meeting (Wednesday, November 11). Elections were held in January 2026 and Bylaws changes limit President and Vice-President terms to 2 years, while Secretary and Treasurer terms are 1 year. Nominations will be solicited during the regular October meeting (Wednesday, October 14) for Secretary and Treasurer positions. The existing slate of officers may be re-nominated, and if no other nominations are made, they may continue their terms with an affirmative vote. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the November meeting. Candidates may self-nominate. You do not need to be present to be nominated. Per RPAC bylaws, in order to be eligible to vote, you must have attended at least 2 meetings during the prior 12 months. If you are not certain of your voting status or attendance record, please email admin@rosenblumpac.org and the Membership Committee will follow up with you. You may also check your voting eligibility status on the sign-in sheets at monthly RPAC meetings....

Get Involved...We NEED You!
The Rosenblum Park Advisory Council is all volunteer-driven. Nothing happens simply because it "should" - things get done when people step up to do them! As of January 2026, we are looking for volunteers who want to engage in the following areas: --
Capital Improvements: This is a current and active committee, whose main focus at this time is on the much-needed addition of a standalone field house and a total redesign and restructure of the park. This committee will also work with other city entities such as Safe Streets Chicago to report progress on proposed upgrades to 76th St raised crosswalks and other projects.
Implementation of approved Participatory Budget requests: This committee will keep up with project status & report back to RPAC members monthly. This is our ongoing effort to systematically assess the park and report on issues that need to be fixed, and help direct the attention and resource of the Park District to the most urgent problems.
External Relations: This very important committee will focus on communicating beyond our existing audience of RPAC members and email newsletter subscribers. This would include efforts to engage new people in our work, ensure that we are communicating more effectively to the surrounding communities, and work to make sure our key messages reach relevant public officials...
